"Six days ago I awoke to a weird rushing sound and a bright orange glow. The evergreens on the mountain which looms over my dry sagebrush and grass pastures were on fire. Snakes of fire slithered down the mountain, pushed by wind, in my direction. Evacuate! We moved the horses thanks to the kindness of friends. I put my nearly wild barn cat and my yellow lab in the car. I put my wife's bunny rabbit into a heavy canvas Filson duffel bag, hoping to avoid natural selection in the car as we fled the smoke and fire. I only had time to take a few precious items. I took a picture of my wife taken when we first met, my Modwright SWL 9.0 SE pre-amp, my Firstwatt F3 amplifier and....my BPT 3.5 Signature Plus power conditioner. If someone had told me a year ago that I would be hustling through heavy smoke in my house with a bunny filled duffel bag in one hand and the (heavy) BPT 3.5 in the other, I would have said they were crazy. A power conditioner?! It makes that much of a difference. Thank God the hundreds of brave firefighters stopped the onslaught of the fire, which burned over 11,000 acres and destroyed buildings on the mountain. It is now 95% contained. My home and barn were spared, except for smoke damage. No matter what, I had the important stuff in the car...Thanks for a great product."

I have recently added several BPT products to my system, namely, 2 L-10 cords and a CPC line conditioner with 3 Oyaide outlets, 2 standard outlets, and an L-10 cord upgrade. I've been a devotee of power conditioning for some time, and thus I've tried several options ranging from Richard Gray to PS Audio to Shunyata, and an equal range of cords, all of which I found beneficial. At this point, it seems clear to me that BPT products are among the lead dogs in the pack while offering the best deal on the market, hands down. First, the L-10. Fast, great low end focus, and extended highs are what it brings, that is, punchy, articulate bass with pluck and ring, toe tapping rhythms, and great dimensionality for voices and strings, acoustic or electric. If, like me, you think Byrd's masses for 3, 4, & 5 voices are untouchable works of genius (courtesy of Carwood's Cardinal's Musick), the L-10 will prove a great friend indeed as it brings air to the harmonies without rendering them lean. Head to head, at least in my system, the L-10 left the Shunyata Copperhead in the dust, and is at least the equal of the Taipan alpha, although at some points, were comparing apples and oranges here. I now use two L-10's for my amp and pre-amp, and with real satisfaction, and for a good deal less than I could have spent elsewhere. Now to the CPC, which is an even crazier deal. I was using a Hydra 4 (which replaced the Richard Gray and bested a Power Plant), but I needed more outlets, and relished the thought of giving each component its own duplex (which the CPC's 10 inputs allowed). For just a bit more than $900 with an L-10 and Oyaide XXX upgrade on three of the receptacles, I lowered my noise floor dramatically, which further articulated the bass, finding music where rumbles had been, while appreciably deepening the sound stage which unveiled inner details and harmonic textures that previously were of the order of hints rather than full fledged presences. After a full two weeks of break-in, and no doubt some nuanced changes are still on the way, I find myself dizzy before a wide, remarkably open yet natural and relaxed sound stage with lightening quick dynamics, e.g. in the bob and weave of the saxophones around the mikes on *Kind of Blue,* or in the thunderous escalations of Mogwai's *Come On Die Young.* You should know, however, that the CPC is a full-fledged component, and thus introducing it into your system will require some realignment of speakers and the like in the space you're trying to fill. Doing so is half the fun, however, and careful placements will really advance your cause. There are a wealth of good products available to audiophiles, so polemics are out of order when reviewing serious gear. That said, you can be certain that BPT products are top flight, and that they'll give you more for your greenbacks than any other products I've encountered, which is enough to make me certifiable as disordered in one way or another."

"As I continued to listen a variety of enhanced sonic attributes vied for attention. Voices were richer and more realistic, with much less of the slight electronic character that subconsciously cues us to the distinction between live and reproduced. The details and subtle textures of instruments were more readily heard. High frequency sounds became more extended and relaxed, with greater clarity and absolutely no sense of strain. The midrange bloomed with greater sonic density and aural images were more naturally placed and formed. Bass was even more articulate and supple than before, without becoming lean or losing body. And yes, the blacks-- er, the quiet became quieter and the loud seemingly became louder by comparison. Not normally one to obsess and analyze and strain at every detail when it comes to all this stuff, my overall gut instinct on hearing the system with the Model 3 in place was, "Damn! That really, really sounds GOOD!" (TM, Rancho De Luxe Product Testing Laboratories). Toe- tapping, foot-stompin', get up and shake that thang GOOD! I mean, GOO-OOD! Damn! "

"I consider this custom BP unit on par with a source upgrade. It is much more noticeable than most tweaks. The benefit I see is that it has upgraded all my components simultaneously. This is the only upgrade I have done in recent memory with absolutely no buyer's remorse."

"All aspects of music reproduction are better; soundstage, dynamics, detail, frequency extremes (especially bass). Voices are liquid...honey-toned. At first, the voices were SO non-electronic that I feared I had lost the top end and with it detail, but such is, most certainly, not the case. There is NO aspect of my sound system that is not better by a SIGNIFICANT amount. No other change in my system (And I have spent far more money) has EVER brought me this much closer to the music. The most significant (and, by far, the most elusive) change is the reproduction of voice. The liquidity, warmth, purity of tone, verity, and detail (breath, tone change, trailing of a note) are stunning and beautiful. This represents a degree of sophistication I had long thought I would NEVER attain within my budget!!!!! My heartiest congratulations to you for producing a product that every audiophile/audio nut should own, for it provides not only a huge improvement to sound reproduction.......it is affordable."

"What are my first impressions regarding the BP-3's sonic effects in my system? Unlike many tweaks that you have to 'listen for', the effects of balanced power were immediately obvious. Playing CDs I've heard a bazillion times (like Jeff Buckley's Grace and Jennifer Warren's Famous Blue Raincoat), every voice and instrument in the recordings takes on much greater separation and stands out taller and more live against deeper relief. Playing SACDs (Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 in D Major performed by Arcadi Volodos, and Straight, No Chaser by Thelonius Monk) and super-quality CDs (Patricia Barber's Modern Cool and Audioquest's Works of Art, Vol.3) really makes the investment in balanced power very worth it. Decay is much more natural, presence is more weighty, and so the overall presentation more analogue than without the balanced power. It really is quite stunning of an improvement.

"I'm really impressed with the two BP-2s I bought for my home theater. I thought I had done everything to make it look and sound good - Krell amps and processor, Aerial Acoustics speakers, Sony ES9000 DVD player, Runco projector, Stuart Screen, Audioquest Granite speaker cables, Transparent interconnects, and 6 Richard Gray conditioners... but these took my system to yet another level. In very simple terms, it cleaned things up. In more specific terms, it really made my video more three dimensional. It made the voices sound more real and got stuff off of me so I had room to breath and really hear everything that's going on. It filtered out noise but not sounds to make it easier to hear even the finest nuances. When your literature says that 'it lowers the noise floor', I think that's a very good way to explain it, because while it quieted down the noise-sounds, it also made the real sounds even more dramatic. It also and importantly tightened up the bass and gave it more punch. Thanks for making such great products."
